On 14th and 16th September 2021, COMBINE organised a bioinformatics workshop with virtual machines provided through Australian BioCommons, with 25 registrants across 6 states in Australia. This workshop introduced basic activities carried out by bioinformaticians including basic shell functions, version control with git, formatting documents with LaTeX and working with real biological data. Participants were presented with challenges after each section, which made the learning fun and interactive.
