The aim of the workshop is to teach novice programmers to write modular code using best practices for data analysis in R.
R is a program commonly used in many scientific disciplines for statistical analysis with an array of third-party packages. The emphasis of this workshop will be to give attendees a strong foundation in the fundamentals of R, and to teach best practices for scientific computing including, breaking down analyses into modular units, task automation, and encapsulation.
We are fortunate to have Dr. Adams Sparks from the University of Southern Queensland kindly offer his time and expertise to instruct the class. Note that this workshop will focus on teaching the fundamentals of R’s programming language, not teaching statistical analysis.
