Brisbane R/Bash and RNA-seq workshops

In the next month we are running R/Bash and RNA-seq work in Brisbane.

R/Bash

This hands-on workshop will cover basic programming concepts and tools, including program design, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. For more details head to combine-australia.github.io/2017-06-28-R-Brisbane/ and to register go to www.abacbs.org/combineworkshops/unix-r-brisbane-june-2017.

RNA-seq Analysis

In this workshop, you will learn how to analyse RNA-seq count data, using R. This will include reading the data into R, quality control and performing differential expression analysis and gene set testing, with a focus on the limma-voom analysis workflow. You will learn how to generate common plots for analysis and visualisation of gene expression data, such as boxplots and heatmaps. This workshop is aimed at biologists interested in learning how to perform differential expression analysis of RNA-seq data when reference genomes are available. Some basic R knowledge is assumed. If you are not familiar with the R statistical programming language we strongly encourage you attend our R/Bash workshop or a similar course prior to attending.
