About this workshop:
This Software Carpentry with R workshop is a tie-in to the 2016 UQ Winter School in Mathematical and Computational Biology. The workshop is being brought to you by COMBINE. Attendees must have registered for at least some part of the UQ Winter School.

Software Carpentry‘s mission is to help scientists and engineers get more research done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic lab skills for scientific computing. This 2-day hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, data management, and task automation. It will also teach R. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.
Who should attend: The course is aimed at graduate students, early career researchers and others who want to develop their skills and knowledge. No prior knowledge of coding is needed.
Course location: The Boardroom, St. Leo’s College, College Road, The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus.
Course requirements: Participants MUST bring a laptop with a few specific software packages installed. They are also required to abide by Software Carpentry’s Code of Conduct.
