Today is Ada Lovelace Day! Celebrating Women in STEM @vlsci

Ada Lovelace Day

13 October 2015

This is an international day designed to celebrate the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Ada worked on Charles Babbage’s early mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine and is said to have developed the first algorithm for its use. She is often described as the world’s first computer programmer. More information at findingada.com including a complete worldwide event listing.

VLSCI has, with kind permission of the artist (Lisa Congdon, lisacongdon@gmail.com) produced a poster to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day, 13 October 2015. Feel free to download, print-out (A3 colour) and distribute this poster wherever you wish and help us join in this international celebration. High and low resolution versions are available from the VLSCI website at: https://www.vlsci.org.au/page/publications.
