SPOTLIGHT ON KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Dr Tanja Woyke Joint Genome Institute, USA
|After studying the mechanism of action of antifungal natural products and their derivatives during her Ph.D. in Microbiology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (Germany), Dr.Woyke pursued her postdoctoral research at the JGI in 2004. The main object of her research was the symbiont community of a gutless oligochaete for which she deciphered function and host-symbiont interplay using metagenomics. Taking on a Research Scientist position in 2007, she switched gears from metagenomics to single-cell genomics, which is now her primary interest and passion. Dr.Woyke stepped into the microbial genomics program lead position in 2009.|

Cost: The conference dinner is not included in any registratino type. Tickets may be purchased at an additional cost of $130 per person. The Conference dinner is the social highlight of the program and should not be missed.
A student function will be held on the evening of Monday, 12 October 2015. More detail coming soon.
As an equity and diversity initiative in support of delegates with parenting or caring responsibilities, a private room will be available at the conference venue for parents with young children. Live audio from the Plenary, along with presenter PowerPoint presentations, will be available to view from this room. Please note that this room will not be staffed. Attendees are not permitted to utilise this room for babysitting services.
