Job: Mathematical modelling/coding Kirby Institute, Australia

We’re looking for some recent honours grads or PhD grads that might be interested in working on project at the Kirby Institute (UNSW). We’re simulating the disease progression in people living with HIV and using that information to estimate incidence.
The work will involve converting a mathematical model from MATLAB to JavaScript, creating a visual interface in HTML/JavaScript, implementing other models in JavaScript and interpreting the outputs of the models.
Anyone who has MATLAB or JavaScript experience (or both) would potentially be a good candidate for this work. It is a temporary project (6 months), but if funding comes up for other projects there may be scope for the person to be involved with those projects later on. The person will be starting as soon as possible in January.
This project would be great for anyone who is between courses or jobs who want to get some experience working at the university and learn a little about web development. Salary will be between $65,000-$80,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
