Registrations and abstract submissions are now open for the inaugural Australian Bioinformatics Conference (ABiC)!
ABiC 2014 will be held on Sat 11th & Sun 12th October at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. ABiC 2014 immediately precedes this year’s Australasian Genomics Technology Association (AGTA) conference, which is also being held in Melbourne, on October 12 – 15th.
ABiC was created by bioinformaticians for bioinformaticians, to bring together researchers from academia, industry and government to discuss recent developments in bioinformatics methods and applications, and to foster improved interactions within the Australian bioinformatics community. The conference is open to anyone working in or having an interest in bioinformatics. The ABiC 2014 program will reflect the diversity and breadth of bioinformatics research in Australia.
ABiC 2014 abstract submissions close Aug 13th (Talks) and Oct 1st (Posters).
A limited number of travel bursaries are available for students enrolled full-time at Australian institutions outside of Victoria (must register by Aug 13).
Our current list of confirmed invited speakers includes:
– Prof. Terry Speed (Walter & Eliza Hall Institute, Parkville, VIC)
– Dr. Ana Congresa Cegarra (Principe Felipe Research Centre, Spain)
– Asst. Prof. Titus Brown (Michigan State)
– Dr. Sylvain Forêt (Australian National University)
Numerous speakers will be selected from abstracts as well, so get your abstract in today! Prizes will be awarded for best talks and posters from students and early-career researchers.
